Blood is drawn in our office as though you are having routine blood testing . The blood is spun in a centrifuge and the PRP is separated and removed from the rest of the blood.  We use the Halycon PRP System which is a closed sterile system that concentrates the  platelets to 5-6 times the normal blood values.  We then give you an  anesthesia block to nerves of the scalp so you will not feel any pain and we inject the highly concentrated High Density platelet rich plasma (HD-PRP) into your scalp. You will see improvement after the first treatment but we find the best results occur after 4 treatments performed one month apart.

PRP contains many growth factors that stimulate the hair follicle’s reactivation, however this does not treat the underlying reason for the initial hair loss so we recommend a once a year treatment to maintain the hair growth.
